To Remember Me
The day will come when my body will lie upon a white sheet neatly tucked
under four corners of a mattress located in a hospital busily occupied with the
living and the dying. At a certain moment a doctor will determine that my brain
has ceased to function and that, for all intents and purposes, my life has
stopped.
When that happens, do not attempt to instill artificial life into my body by
the use of a machine. And don't call this my deathbed. Let it be called the Bed
of Life, and let my body be taken from it to help others lead fuller lives.
- Give my sight to the man who has never seen a sunrise, a baby's face or
love in the eyes of a woman.
- Give my heart to a person whose own heart has caused nothing but endless
days of pain.
- Give my blood to the teenager who was pulled from the wreckage of his car,
so that he might live to see his grandchildren play.
- Give my kidneys to one who depends on a machine to exist from week to
week.
- Take my bones, every muscle, every fiber and nerve in my body and find a
way to make a crippled child walk.
- Explore every corner of my brain. Take my cells, if necessary, and let
them grow so that , some day, a speechless boy will shout at the crack of a
bat and a deaf girl will hear the sound of rain against her window.
- Burn what is left of me and scatter the ashes to the winds to help the
flowers grow.
- If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weaknesses and all
prejudice against my fellow man.
- Give my sins to the devil.
- Give my soul to God.
If, by chance, you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to
someone who needs you.
If you do all I have asked, I will live forever.

Let me
know!
"To those who see with loving eyes, life is
beautiful. To those who speak with tender voices, life is peaceful. To
those who help with gentle hands, life is full. And to those who care
with compassionate hearts, life is good beyond all measure."

What do I get for this, I
said,
and angel gave me a catalog
filled with toasters and clock radios
and a basketball signed by Michael Jordan
and I said, but this is just stuff
and the angel smiled at me and
swallowed me in her arms.
"I'm so glad you said that",
she whispered to me.
"I knew you still had a chance.”

You're not the love of my life, but the life of my love.

Thanks to snickergal...
Few are willing to brave the
disapproval of their fellows, the
censure of the colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral
courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great
intelligence. Yet it is the one essential, vital quality for
those who seek to change a world that yields most painfully to
change. Each time a person stands up for an idea, or acts to
improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice,
(s)he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other
from a million different centers of energy and daring, those
ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls
of oppression and resistance.

A Random Act of Senseless Kindness
- (Frank J. Myers, Gary Baker, Jerry Williams)
- I picked up the morning paper
- The headlines were no surprise
- A random act of senseless violence
- Was committed again last night
- It seems the whole world has gone crazy
- And something needs to be done
- So starting today, I'm gonna find a way
- I'm gonna repay someone
-
- With a random act of senseless kindness
- Unexpected hand to help remind us
- A little bit of love is the cure for hate
- It's easy to give up but its never too late
- A single step in the right direction
- Person to person making a connection
- We can change the world that's become so violent
- With a random act of senseless kindness
-
- How I long to live the simple life
- When neighbors were still friends
- And the sidewalks leading downtown
- Were safe to walk back then
|
- The classrooms and the school yards
- Were havens for our kids
- Well, it’s a long way back but we can get on track
- Today's a good day to begin
-
- With a random act of senseless kindness
- Unexpected hand to help remind us
- A little bit of love is the cure for hate
- It's easy to give up but its never too late
- A single step in the right direction

" The most important human endeavor is the striving for
morality in our actions. Our inner balance and even our very existence depend on

Definition of Success:
"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of
intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of
honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty,
to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a
healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one
life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson
" When you were born, you cried and the world
rejoiced. Live your life in such a manner that when you die, the world cries
and you rejoice "
